R. Donahue Peebles
R. Donahue Peebles is a real estate entrepreneur, a best-selling author and political activist. He is the chief executive of the Peebles Corporation, which is considered the largest African-American real estate development company in the country. And, on top of that, he is considering running for mayor of Washington D.C. in a challenge to Mayor Adrian Fenty.
Mr. Peebles discusses his view of how Washington D.C. has fared over the last few years and offers views on a wide range of public policy issues, from strategies to create and sustain jobs in urban areas to improving education results.

Major Owens
The show will also include a retrospective of the administration of John V. Lindsay, who served as mayor of New York from 1966 to 1973 in advance of an exhibit about the late mayor at the Museum of the City of New York. Former Congressman Major R. Owens will discuss the turbulent era of the Lindsay administration, a period of complex social, cultural and economic issues facing New York City.
Congressman Owens, a senior fellow at the DuBois Bunche Center for Public Policy, discusses the accomplishments of the Lindsay Administration in addressing the concerns of low-income New Yorkers. Mr. Owens served as a commissioner under Mr. Lindsay.

Through interviews with politicians, policy makers, industry practitioners, scholars and expert analysts, Urban Focus will explore a range of issues that affect underserved communities and communities of color from Crown Heights, Brooklyn, to Cape Town, South Africa. The discussions will serve to both draw attention to problems and highlight solutions for issues of concern to these communities.
