Brad Lander

Brad Lander

Congressman Nadler, who represents parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn, discusses a chapter he wrote on the need for a new tunnel in New York City to assist transporting freight. And Mr. Lander discusses his chapter, which presented a series of recommendations for how economic development should be undertaken in New York City.

In fact, this broadcast of Urban Focus looks at a number of recommendations offered in the book. It is a collection of essays by a diverse group of people whose ideas and arguments, proposals and prescriptions, are brought together for the first time. All are equally concerned about how to make New York City stronger and healthier than ever. The book offers a blueprint for post-recession governance as well as ambitious but workable plans for advancing policies to strengthen vital areas and sectors, assets and drivers, of the local economy.
